Punting, Laughter and Goodbyes: Celebrating Peter’s Retirement

18th September 2025

After 32 years at CSD, we’ve had the privilege (and the bittersweet moment) of wishing Peter a very happy retirement.

Peter has been part of CSD for so long that it’s hard to picture the company without him. He’s been through every shift and change. Helping us adapt, grow, and stay true to who we are as a business. His leadership has shaped not just our strategy and success, but our culture too. Some people feel like part of the furniture… but Peter is more than that. He’s been part of the foundations that CSD has been built on.

To celebrate, we spent an afternoon punting on the river in Oxford (with varying degrees of skill on display), followed by dinner at the Cherwell Boathouse, where we raised a glass (or two) and tried to put into words what he’s meant to all of us.

Peter once said:
“You can’t fight change; you have to embrace it. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that the ability to adapt is what keeps you and your company moving forward.”

That spirit of adaptability and steady leadership has run right through his career. From big milestones to the countless moments of wisdom, humour, and encouragement along the way, Peter has left an imprint that will last long after he’s stepped back. His ability to see the bigger picture and bring people with him has been invaluable, and those of us who’ve worked alongside him will miss that more than we can say.

Peter, thank you for everything you’ve given to CSD. Your story is woven into ours, and while your daily presence will be missed, your influence will carry on in the way we work and the culture we’ve built together. We all wish you the very best for this next chapter.
